Jack Hunt says the Owls will continue to take each game as it comes, focusing only on gaining a positive result from the next fixture.

Wednesday strengthened their position in the top six in midweek with victory over Blackburn.

After three wins on the spin and just one defeat in the last 11 outings, the Owls are only looking up the table as Hunt explained:

“We’re not looking at the teams trying to catch us, we’re looking to the teams above us and that’s all you can do.

“We don’t want to worry about the teams behind us, we want to play our game, take each game as it comes and keep putting points on the board, that’s all that matters.

“Three wins out of three and we can’t do any more than that, we’ve put nine points on the board with two clean sheets so it’s looking good.

“We’re on a great run, one defeat in 11 and if we can keep that up then we will move higher up the league than what we are right now.”

This weekend the Owls face Hunt’s former club Nottingham Forest.

The 26-year-old spent part of the 2014/15 campaign on loan at The City Ground, making 19 appearances in total for the Reds.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game, Hunt added: “It’s a stronger league than last season, you look at how many teams are challenging to get in the play-offs and it’s harder to get in there this season.

“We are getting a lot more respect from teams, and that makes it harder for us but we have to overcome that.

“There will have been games last season where we produced better performances but might not have got the victory. We are winning a lot of points now and long may it continue.”
