Owls fans can now vote for their swfc.co.uk December Player of the Month.
As Wednesday prepare for their final game of 2016, December has so far proved a productive period for the club with four wins from five this month.
Beyond that, the Owls’ current run of form is five wins from six, just one defeat in seven and clean sheets in the last three outings.
Wednesday kicked off the month with a 2-1 home victory over Preston before suffering a defeat by the same score at Reading the following week.
From then, Carlos Carvalhal’s side have recorded three consecutive victories in very different Sky Bet Championship challenges.
First up was a South Yorkshire derby against a strong Barnsley outfit at Hillsborough, where goals from Angus McDonald (og) and Sam Hutchinson sealed a vital win.
Strugglers Rotherham were next to visit Hillsborough for the Owls’ second derby of the week and a late, late Steven Fletcher penalty settled a close-fought contest to post three more points on the board.
Wednesday were the underdogs on Boxing Day as they faced their biggest challenge of the campaign in a tough trip to a sold-out St James’ Park.
But the visitors were not to be denied and came away with an impressive 1-0 win in front of the live cameras as captain Glenn Loovens nodded home his first goal for the club.
