Vote for your swfc.co.uk Player of the Month

28 November 2016

Owls fans can now vote for their swfc.co.uk November Player of the Month!

Just three games from which to make your decisions this past month, kicking off with a home defeat to Ipswich on Saturday 5 November.

The Owls were defeated 2-1 by the Tractor Boys, despite largely dominating the S6 fixture.

Gary Hooper levelled for Wednesday to cancel out Tom Lawrence’s opener just past the half hour before Luke Chambers struck late to seal the win.

The international break followed before the Owls were back on the road in a tough clash against in-form Fulham.

The Cottagers went into the game in good form with back to back wins, including an impressive 5-0 victory over Huddersfield but it was Wednesday who started on the front foot.

After nine minutes, Carlos Carvalhal’s side deservedly hit the front in superb fashion.

Fernando Forestier sold his marker a dummy from Ross Wallace’s feed, before collecting the return ball from Gary Hooper and slotting into the bottom corner.

A late leveller from Scott Malone left the Owls frustrated at the last but there were plenty of positives to take into the Wolves clash, where Wednesday triumphed with a first class display.

Having won the penalty in the first instance, Forestieri stepped up and coolly converted from 12 yards to put the Owls a goal up on 15 minutes.

With the visitors firmly in the driving seat, a second goal seemed likely and duly arrived on 29 minutes.

Kieran Lee applied the finish from returning striker Lucas Joao’s cutback – Forestieri again key in the build-up.
