Owls legends making dreams come true!

8 May 2024

This weekend, Wednesday legends are coming together to raise money for the Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme (SWFCCP) and the Create A Dream Foundation (CADF).

CADF is renowned for its support of children facing serious illness and providing invaluable support for their families.

Former Owls defender Tommy Spurr’s son Rio, who suffered a rare form of cancer, enjoyed a magical trip to Lapland during his illness, facilitated by the CADF.

This Friday, 10 May, ex-Owls including Lee Bullen, Daniel Pudil, Gary Hooper, Lawrie Madden and Des Walker will be reminiscing on their Wednesday memories from years gone by at a sold-out dinner in the 1867 Lounge at Hillsborough.

Then, on Saturday 11 May, the excitement continues as 17 players from different backgrounds join forces, each having donated £400 to challenge the legends on the pitch.

Tasting the experience of a player on matchday, participants will undergo a light morning training session at the SWFC Community Facility, enjoy a pre-match meal at the stadium, and then take to the pitch for the main event.

A special guest manager will be revealed on Friday and each player will receive a full match kit to cherish as a souvenir.

All supporters are welcome to witness the action, admission to the game is £5.00 per person, cash only for the South Stand.

Turnstiles open at 1:00pm for a 2:00pm kick-off and refreshments will be available on the concourses.

All proceeds from both events will be divided evenly between SWFCCP and CADF. Your presence and support are invaluable and we look forward to seeing you there!
